1. Stamping


This part includes the stamping of the shell and the stamping of the USB terminal. The terminal is the core component of the USB connector and the part that contacts the USB male or female socket. The quality of the terminal material directly affects the performance parameters of the finished product. Our company's products are generally made of high-quality phosphor copper, and the Type-C connectors used on smartphones are usually made of phosphor bronze or high conductivity copper. The terminals of USB connectors are usually stamped from thin copper strips. One end of the large copper strip is fed into the front end of the high-speed stamping machine, and the other end passes through the hydraulic worktable of the stamping machine and wraps around the winding wheel. The copper strip is pulled out by the winding wheel and rolled up to be stamped into the finished product.


2. Electroplating


After the terminal stamping is completed, the electroplating section is carried out. In the electroplating stage, various metal coatings will be applied to the terminal contact surfaces or shells of various connectors according to the type and purpose of the product. For example, in order to improve the solderability of the terminals, they can be coated with a solder layer; In order to improve the conductivity of the USB connector, gold or other materials are plated on top of the terminals; To improve the corrosion resistance of the USB interface, we can coat it with nickel layers of different thicknesses.

4. Assembly


The final process of USB connector manufacturing is assembly. The company employees use high-speed terminal assembly machines to continuously and quickly assemble the semi-finished products produced in the above processes into finished products.


5. Detect storage
